Do you think making money online is as easy as watching the grass grow? Well, guess again sunshine. Like anything else in life that is worth doing it requires focus, attention to detail, and commitment.

Morning Time

The other day I received an email from Leo Babauta and he said that he had just gotten up to start his day and it was 4:30, in the morning! And it really struck me that bloggers are some of the hardest working people in the world. As I sit and write this quick note I can hear the roosters outside my window.

If you go to any of the top sites that focus on blogging, SEO, marketing and productivity like ProBlogger, ZenHabits, DoshDosh, Skelliewag, or Entrepreneurs Journey (just to name a few) and have a look at the content that they are providing (for free) it truly is amazing.

What most people, non-bloggers, do not understand is the time that is required when it comes to creating quality, well written, and useful information.

So, to all of the sites that I am reading these days THANK YOU for your hard work!

Editors note and open invitation:
If you had the chance to ask a top blogger, SEO expert, or marketing guru a unique question, what would it be? Please let me know in the comments.

Over the next couple of weeks I have an amazing interview series coming up with some extremely interesting, talented, and creative people so keep your RSS reader aimed here.

    Mark:

I used to work from 3:30AM to 7:30PM as consultant. I had to get up at 3:00AM to get ready for my Florida clients and worked late until 7:30PM for California clients, while I was in Phoenix Arizona.

I worded like that for 7 months. I could not count how many beautiful sun rise days I have seen in the sunny state. It was also amazing to see how many people are actually working so early.

At 3:00AM, there were already many cars on the highway!

I would imagine myself working at your beach house at 5:00AM and watch the sun goes up!

So I will ask you an unique question, since you will soon become a top blogger.

How much do you enjoy working at your beach house under the green palm tree?

I am going to make myself a cup of coffee and come back to see your response! ;-)

@Terence ~ Thank you for the compliment! Now, I only have to work my way up through another 10 million bloggers and might just be a top blogger…

Working from the Caribbean is pretty great! But, lately my days have been starting at 5:00am and running until midnight with not a palm tree in sight.

Your consulting story made me tired. How on earth did you keep those hours? Are you back to a more normal schedule? The good thing about Culebra is NO traffic.

It’s half-past three in the morning where I’m from and I’ve yet to sleep yet actually. Strange hours… But here’s one more thing bloggers have to contend with: Bad backs. Sitting in front of the computer for hours at a time can really damage one’s posture. And my lower back doesn’t know how to twist and turn itself correctly.

This is a great post! As a fellow early morning blogger who appreciates silence, this hit home with me. Why get up so early? Why not! It’s the only time of day that I can fully control and it’s peaceful.

    Keep up the good work,
    Mike

I do know someone that gets up that early, my dad, every day for the last 20 plus years… I did it for a travel industry job once but it almost killed me. I do work all the time, but I tend to stay up late :)

  6. Coop Says:

    Hi Mark,
I may wake up anywhere from 4:15 to 5:15, 6 days a week.

I usually see clients till noon, then I’ll eat and have a nap. I see a few more clients, but save time int the evenings for my family.

Off to be early around 9pm
    Best,
    Coop

  7. Mark Says:

Hi Coop - Yeah, I try to get up by 5:00a.m. most days and I am lucky if I stay up past 8:30 :)
